Words Unite – an integrated campaign to get Hackney reading

THE BRIEF: Improve literacy rates in the London Borough of Hackney.

THE BIG IDEA: Create Words Unite and choose a wide variety of typefaces to represent the range of ages and ethnicities in Hackney.

THE MEDIA: Six sheets, cinema, events, press, giant games and puzzles, leaflets, bookmarks, partner initiatives, web and PR.

THE RESULTS: Over 8,000 unique web visitors, with 154,000 page views. 80 partner organisations sign up. Thousands attend launch event.
