“Rethink Your Drink” was the core message for Alcohol Awareness Week 2009. In support of the campaign Hampshire DAAT and NHS Hampshire worked with Mabox to create a “Rethink Your Drink” alcohol screening scratchcard, asking people to assess their drinking habits and to find out whether they could be at risk of developing a related illness in the future.
120.000 scratchcards and 4,000 promotional posters have been distributed to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals, libraries, community centres, gyms and job centres across the county and an interactive online version was created for the NHS Hampshire website, which can be viewed at www.hampshire.nhs.uk/rethinkyourdrink
Following on from the campaign’s success, the scratchcards are now being rolled out in Bournemouth and Poole and there has been much interest from other areas around the UK.
